In a shocking case of child abuse, a 12-year-old girl was sold to a man by her mother for Rs 1 lakh and this after the man had allegedly raped the minor. The man then sold the girl to a brothel where she was allegedly raped again by him again.
According to a report in the Times of India, “the case came to light after the girl escaped from the brothel and took help from an NGO to register a complaint against her mother and others.”
The report says that the girl is a class VII student and was visiting her mother during her summer vacation in Parli this May, when she was allegedly raped.
Police have arrested her mother, the rapist, brothel owner under sections of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
