Now, Telangana MLC seats for sale! Whenever there are elections to any seat, there will be allegations against Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao that he will sell the party tickets for money.

And during the ongoing MLC elections, too, KCR is facing similar serious allegations. While he has fielded party candidates – former TNGO leader K Swamy Goud for the graduates constituency in Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak, and P Sudhakar Reddy for the teachers’ constituency in the same districts, he has surprisingly fielded Varada Reddy, owner of a corporate school and colleges in Warangal fo the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda teachers’ constituency.

Though there were not many objections for the first two seats because they are hardcore TRS candidates, the selection of Varada Reddy for the third seat has raised many eyebrows. His selection was criticized by the teachers’ community in general, because he had never participated in any teachers’ movements nor does he have any cordial relationship with teachers. He started off as a tutorial college principal and has now grown into a rich man with a chain of educational institutions in the name of SR group of Institutions, which include engineering colleges, junior colleges and even SR Digi Schools.

Varada Reddy was in Praja Rajyam Party in the past and tried for the MLA seat. Now, he allegedly paid Rs 5 crore to the TRS president to get the MLC seat. According to reports, the teachers are planning to defeat him in the elections, but because of the Telangana sentiment, they are in second thoughts, as the defeat of the TRS candidate might result in the Centre denying the separate state.
